Dogfish Head Quick Sip Clip: Blue Hen Pilsner

Dogfish Head: "Blue Hen Pilsner is a crisp and refreshing pilsner brewed with only four ingredients – water, hops, yeast, and barley. What makes it so special, is that all the barley used in Blue Hen Pilsner is grown and malted right in our backyard of the Delmarva Peninsula. Giving a loving nod to our slight yet mighty home state, the label art features the Delaware state bird and a color palette similar to that of the Delaware state flag! Look for this all-day drinking pilsner wherever you find great indie craft beer."

Re-Gen-Ale: the first traceably sourced beer to address climate change using Indigo Carbon

Dogfish Head: "We've joined forces with Indigo Agriculture to brew Re-Gen-Ale, the first traceably sourced beer to address climate change through agriculture using Indigo Carbon, a program that provides growers with a financial incentive to store carbon in their soils! Releasing on Saturday, September 19, from our Off-Centered EmPOURium in downtown Rehoboth Beach, Re-Gen-Ale offers drinkers the opportunity to give back to the planet with every pint or can consumed, making it the perfect jumpstart to this year’s Climate Week (Sept. 21-27) festivities!

This unique partnership with Indigo, a company dedicated to harnessing nature to help farmers sustainably feed the planet, began back in January, when the first test batches of Re-Gen-Ale were brewed. Through Indigo’s Grain Marketplace, a platform used to connect growers and buyers of crops, we were able to secure the traceably sourced ingredients to produce Re-Gen-Ale, including sustainable wheat grown with regenerative farming. We also committed to purchasing more than the amount of carbon credits needed to offset the production of Re-Gen-Ale."

Hazy Ripple TV with Sam Calagione & David Lemieux

From Dogfish Head Brewery: "After an epic visit from Grateful Dead archivist and legacy manager David Lemieux in February 2019, we knew we'd have to do it all again. Almost exactly one year later, David joined us back in coastal Delaware this past February for another weekend of fun - complete with a tour, meet & greet, dinner and a show. In the midst of a busy weekend, we managed to find time for Dogfish Head founder Sam Calagione to sit down with David and catch up on all things Dogfish Head, Grateful Dead and American Beauty. Watch as they reminisce on how this beautiful collaboration got its start, reflect on this year's release and dream of what's to come!

**Note: this was filmed in late February 2020 before our coastal Delaware properties closed due to COVID-19 concerns.**"

Quick Sip Clip: Vibrant P'Ocean

Another new beer from one of my favorite breweries... Dogfish Head!

Read on: https://www.dogfish.com/brewery/beer/vibrant-pocean

It was at an annual meeting of the world’s leading brewers (the Craft Brewers Conference in 2018) that our relationship with Rodenbach began, blossoming over a few good sour beers.

Inspired by the ocean that connects us, Vibrant P’Ocean is a complex, ruby-colored ale with tart, dry flavors of jammy berries and floral lemon. To create this trans-oceanic potion, we carefully combined two unique base beers – one developed by Rodenbach and the other by our brewers here in Milton.

Rodenbach’s portion – a two-year, foeder-aged sour from its legendary, standing oak casks – was brewed in Belgium before making its 3,400-mile (or 1,000-nautical league) voyage to Delaware.

From there, it was blended with our portion – a kettle sour brewed with pilsner malt, malted wheat, elderberry, elderflower, sliced lemons and Belgian fleur-de-sel.

“We are absolutely honored to be the first to collaborate and create a beer in partnership with Rodenbach, the world’s most well-respected maker of sour beers,” says Dogfish Head founder Sam Calagione. “I’m proud to say that our teams contributed equally on every creative facet of this beer – from the brainstorm to the brew to calibrating the vibrant, red hue of the beer though specific grain and fruit blends. We really took our time and focused on creating a mouth-puckeringly magical drinking experience.”

Dogfish Head Quick Sip Clip: American Beauty Hazy Ripple IPA

Dogfish Head: It’s been a long strange trip, and we’re not about to stop now. After six years and four releases of American Beauty, we’re back with an encore … only this time you haven’t heard the melody.

Together with the Grateful Dead, we’re proud to introduce our latest collaborative iteration – American Beauty Hazy Ripple IPA.

Inspired by the Grateful Dead’s beloved “American Beauty” album, American Beauty Hazy Ripple IPA is an unfiltered India Pale Ale brewed with spelt – an ancient heirloom grain that contributes earthy notes and a natural haze – that’s then dosed with a special yeast variety to accentuate hop aromatics.

The result is a psychedelic 7.0% ABV ale that’s bursting with notes of tropical fruit and juicy citrus, while the style callout lovingly references the fan-favorite track “Ripple.”

Sam Adams x Dogfish Head: CollaBEEration

Dogfish Head: Stop, collaBEErate and listen! Excited to announce that we’ve teamed up with our new co-workers at The Boston Beer Company to create the ultimate collaboration beer – CollaBEEration!

Brewed with two very different types of honey – hello, Zambezi and Brooklyn! – this continually hopped pilsner celebrates the coming together of two breweries. Though vastly different, you’ll find they’re exceptionally complementary.

The use of bees and honey in this special limited release is a nod to the interdependence and unity between Dogfish Head and Samuel Adams, and the result is a remarkably smooth and clean beer that’s chock full of tropical and floral notes, balanced by an earthy spice.

Hitting taps Friday, Oct. 11 at our Milton Tasting Room & Kitchen, as well as the Samuel Adams Boston Brewery Taproom, available … until it’s not!

Dogfish Head Quick Sip Clip: American Beauty Pale Ale

Dogfish Head: American Beauty, a pale ale inspired by the Grateful Dead, captures the spirit of the band's 30 years of touring and recording. Dogfish Head and the Dead both built their followings by connecting directly with beer lovers and music lovers, so when we first started this collaboration (back in 2013), we asked those loyal fans to help drive the recipe.

After receiving more than 1,500 ingredient suggestions, granola was tops. It was the main course in millions of parking lot meals and is a sweet and toasty complement to the barley, succulent wildflower honey and all-American hops.

Now in 2019 - and after three previous 750 mL releases - we're getting the band back together, releasing American Beauty in 12 oz. 6-packs for the first time ever! And we promise, once you taste it ... there's nothin' left to do but smile, smile, smile.

Quick Sip Clip with Dogfish Head: 75 Minute IPA

Dogfish Head Craft Brewery: "It’s been a minute … but 75 Minute IPA is back! What began as a cask-conditioned ale at our Rehoboth brewpub back in 2011, quickly grew to become a cult-favorite amongst craft enthusiasts. From the groucho glasses that adorned the label to it’s slightly dry and lingering bitterness, 75 Minute was (and is) beloved by many.

Now in our latest iteration, this classic IPA is again brewed with maple syrup from Sam’s family farm in Massachusetts, while being continually hopped throughout the boil, and then dry-hopped with a slew of cascade hops. The result is a malty and earthy brew with citrusy-pine aromas, balanced by subtle maple notes."

How to Pair Sushi with Beer | That's Odd, Let's Drink It

Sushi and beer pairings get an upgrade in the season finale of That's Odd, Let's Drink. Instead of drinking cans of industrial lager with takeout California rolls, brewmaster Sam Calagione attempts to match Japanese and American brews with some of the greatest hits from the omakase menu at Shuko, one of NYC's most acclaimed sushi bars. Joining the micro-pairing adventure is musician Julianna Barwick, who brewed a sushi-inspired, wasabi-infused beer called Rosabi with Sam a few years back.

Dogfish Head Chicha 2018

Spit happens - and when it does, you brew Chicha! An ancient Peruvian beer brewed with corn that’s chewed up and spit out, Chicha is one of our most talked about Ancient Ales. First brewed in 2009, our latest batch of Chicha was brewed with corn chewing contributions from over 100+ co-workers who banded together to prepare the beer’s main ingredient for brew day … chewed purple maize (corn)!
